Joe Strouse of Hermance…Totally In: Right from the Beginning!

Immediately after Joe purchased Hermance Machine Company, he joined the WMDA. Within the first three months he attended his first woodworking association meeting in New Orleans, LA. Since then, Joe has not missed an asso
ciation conference meeting to date; he is a strong proponent of the WIC and all it has to offer each of the attendees.

During his tenure at WMDA Joe became the Chair of the Technology Committee for approximately three years prior to the WMDA and WMIA merger. This Committee was a shining example to the WMIA of what the two associations had in common in their plans for future growth. Strouse continued as Chair for that Committee for another year after the merger.

From 2003 to 2009 Strouse held separate terms on the Board of Directors. He believes his involvement in the WMIA has brought a strong degree of recognition to him and his company and the opportunity to develop close relationships with his suppliers, his supplier’s competitors, peers, and other industry professionals.

“My involvement with the WMIA has led me to some key business representation alignments that probably wouldn’t have happened without my membership”, stated Strouse. As for Strouse’s take on the WIC? “It’s one plane ticket, one hotel bill - that can easily make 20-30 face-to-face meetings possible. It’s probably the best way to leverage a travel dollar than I’ve ever seen in any industry!”

Thanks Joe for all your years of membership, personal involvement and leadership in the WMIA! Your thoughtful insights, attention to detail and vision has helped the WMIA grow and serve its members well. We look forward to your continued membership.

While the east coast megalopolis has received 20"-40" of white fluffy precipitation, the Wasatch area in Utah has handled some larger storms! Imagine that. So, as my juniors are fond of saying "It's gonna be epic!"

I've had several people ask about ground transportation, so I hope the attached document is helpful.

And a request…, please go to the doodle page http://doodle.com/xxcfbba3ypviv2rv and update your information so we know how many for dinner each night.
