WMIA Founding Father Edwin Bass Passes Away

 It is with great sadness that WMIA announces the passing of Edwin Bass, who died May 26 at the age of 93.

 

Bass was born in Brooklyn, NY. He attended Erasmus High School before receiving his undergraduate degree from the NYU Commerce Business School. H played a significant role in the woodworking industry as past president of his family's woodworking and machinery business, Rudolf Bass, Inc. and  founder of Holz Machinery.

 

In 1980, Bass was one of seven men who founded the Woodworking Machinery Industry Association and developed what is now the International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta, GA..

 

Services will be held at Congregation Emanu-El, Thursday, May 31, 11am, One East Sixty Fifth Street, New York City.
